After thinking about this for quite sometime, and after being a member of this Wiki for quite sometime, I've decided to do it now, especially in honor of the game's 80th anniversary (and for the obvious reason, every person has had at least one item related to the game in their possession): A blog post about what Monopoly items I or any of my family members have.

• 1976 Board Game--owned by my sister; I didn't really start playing the board game until about well, 20 years ago
• Monopoly: Hand-Held Electronic Game--my top favorite, received in 2012 for my 29th birthday; reason being that I love the talking AI opponents and I love the speech that goes with it
• Monopoly 64 for (what else?) N64--bought in 2014 for my 31st birthday
• Monopoly Westwood CD-Rom--This requires Win 3.1 or Win95 to play, this was the last Monopoly video game to feature the Kids to Adults (K-A) rating until it switched to E for Everyone. The great thing about this game are the appropriate sounds for certain functions: train whistles for the Railroads, sirens for going to Jail, and cash register dings for collecting money
• Monopoly 2000 CD-Rom--see the electronic game; love the speech, my main concern is that when the last opponent goes broke, their properties are not added to the winner's (have had since 2004, started playing in 2012)
• Monopoly Junior CD-Rom--I only played the board game once as a kid. so this might refresh my memories a bit, even if I am too old to play it now!
• Monopoly Game Pen--bought this a long time ago (don't remember when); while the "box" opens to reveal a miniature game board, the game pieces are not removable, so playing the game is out of the question

And if you're wondering...yes, the TV game show should've had an adaption, but how they would've made it, I don't know.

In any event, I do have a couple of (probably losing) tickets from the Monopoly Millionaire's Club lottery draw game as well as a couple of playslips and a couple of how-to-play brochures, but due to low sales, the game ended the day after Christmas; however, the Vegas game show is still going, and some lotteries have revived the brand as a scratch-off game (why not; if you can't win cash, you can still win a chance to be on the show).

So it just goes to show how popular this board game, no matter what version any person has, is still popular after 8 long decades. Gameshowguy2000 (talk) 05:05, April 28, 2015 (UTC)
