Changes: Electronic Banking Edition

Monopoly: Electronic Banking Edition is an update for Monopoly Here and Now first released in 2006. As with the Here and Now Edition, properties and tokens are changed to reflect modern times.

Changes from Here and Now

Only 6 tokens: Segway, Space Shuttle, Baseball Cap, Flat Screen TV, Altoids Container, and a Dog in a Handbag.
Money is stored on 6 cards, rather than cash.
An electronic banking unit is included. The most amount that can be added or subtracted at a time is $20M, and the least amount is $10K.
Houses are blue, Hotels are silver.

Trivia

There is a Version of this where there are 4 cards(Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow) with corresponding tokens(Car, Jet, Dog, Headphones). It also uses a standard monopoly board with the banking unit in red.
The card numbers are: 000X 1935 2011 7070 (X is a number from 1 to 6. Each card has a different number)
- The numbers refer to when Monopoly was first published by Parker Brothers, and when the edition was released.

With an electronic banking unit doing the payments and deposits, players buy property, pay bills and collect debts from opponents with the simple swipe of their card and a few taps on the machine.

With updated property values as high as $4 million and paychecks for passing Go equaling $2 million, players will become moguls faster than ever as they wheel and deal their way around the board.

And the cheeseburger? Call me old-fashioned, but I think I prefer the shoe and the wheelbarrow.
-Random personal feelings aside, Monopoly: Electronic Banking Edition has been a lot of fun to play. With no money to count out and all transactions done through the banking unit, setup is minimal and there is never any worry of running out of (or losing) the paper money of the past.
-Instead, while players are rolling the dice, buying properties, paying rent and more, you simply pass the unit around or, alternatively, have one person be the designated banker. Gone are the days of anyone trying to slip an extra $500 bill from the bank, as the machine takes care of it all.

At 5, Big Sister E is still too young to be able to truly play this game, but she has been learning a lot about what it means to gain and lose money and what it means to keep money electronically.
