Monopoly Board Crawl

Monopoly Board Crawl is a boardgame edition and variant. It is an adult party game, so this Monopoly edition is designed for people ages 21+. It's also a drinking game, but alcohol consumption is not required. There is no money, no bankruptcy, no rent; just risky dares, revealing truths, and ridiculous challenges. This edition has the highest number of Chance cards with 75 in any Monopoly editions. This edition actually ends when all players go around the board only 1 time (all have reached the Go corner space), so it usually takes about 30 minutes (depending on the number of players). Then, the player with the most Title Deeds wins. This game has 10 golden tokens, so it can be played by 2-10 players.

Game Description[]

In the Monopoly Board Crawl game, you and your friends can enjoy a wild night out … in! It’s the official Monopoly drinking game. The object of the game is simple: drink (your beverage of choice) and collect the most properties to win. Roll the die and visit different spaces on the board—from Pregame to the Rooftop Bar. Sips are currency, so when you land on a property, you can buy it with a drink. Pay rent in sips too, or steal that property from its owner by doing a dare. The player with the most deeds after everyone passes GO wins!

This quick and fun adult party game is a hysterical game for game nights, and it makes one of the best game night games for groups. Funny adult party games are also great birthday, holiday, and white elephant gifts for ages 21+. (Alcohol consumption is not required to play this game.)

Game Contents[]

There are no Houses, Hotels, "utilities", Community Chest cards, or even money in this Monopoly edition.

Starting the Game[]

Choose the light or dark side of the 16 colored Title Deed cards. The dark side has more difficult challenges and dares. Place all Title Deed cards near their corresponding spaces.

All 75 Chance cards will be placed facedown.

Each player chooses a token to play. All players will start at GO.

A turn order and who goes first can be determined by a die roll or by agreement on all players.

Gameplay[]

Each player will roll 1 die and move a number of spaces according to this die. They must follow the rules on a board space that they land on.

After a player's turn ends, turn passes to a player on their left.

In this Monopoly edition, a game will end when all players have reached the GO corner space.

"Properties"[]

These "properties" are the daring challenges.

When a "property" is unowned (which its Title Deed card is still on the board), a player that lands on it can buy it with the number of "sips" shown on the board to drink from their beverage.

  • There is no paper money needed in this edition.

If a player does not want to buy a property, then it's okay but its Title Deed card will stay on the board.

  • There is no auction needed for this edition.

Rent or Steal[]

When a player lands on a "property" but it is owned by another player (no Title Deed card in the board), a player (who is landing) has a choice.

  • They can attempt the daring challenge to get the Title Deed card.
    • If the attempt is successful, then a player whose attempt is successful will steal the Title Deed card from the previous owner.
    • If the attempt is unsuccessful, then a player must pay the rent for this failure and the Title Deed card stays with the current owner.
  • They do not attempt the daring challenge, but they have to pay the rent for not doing that challenge.

Chance[]

When a player lands on Chance, they will pick up 1 Chance card and do on what it says.

  • There are 75 Chance cards.

Many of these Chance cards have their own challenges.

  • If a player does or did not do these challenges, then they will drink as a penalty.

Rideshares ("Railroads")[]

There are 4 rideshares in the board (1 on each side).

When a player lands on a rideshare and there is a Title Deed card, they can take it by buying it with only 1 sip.

  • A player can decline taking a Title Deed card, but it is very risky because it is important for winning.

When another player lands on a rideshare but there is no Title Deed card because somebody owns it already, that player (who landed on an owned rideshare) must "pay rent" (taking sips) by the number of rideshares that an owner has.

Free Parking[]

You do not have to do anything.

Everyone else have to take 1 sip.

"Go to Jail"[]

When a player lands on this corner space, they DO NOT go to Jail.

  • Unlike all the other Monopoly editions

Instead, they stay in this corner space until their next turn.

Jail / "Just Visiting"[]

Everyone, including you, takes 1 sip.

Jail is not used in this Monopoly edition because the "Go to Jail" is not directing players to go to Jail.

  • This game wants all players to reach GO to end the game.

GO (corner space)[]

When all players have reached the GO corner space, the game is over and the winner will be determined.

  • If you pass GO first before the other players, continue to play.
    • As long as there is at least 1 player not reaching GO yet, the players reaching GO will continue playing.
      • This will continue until the final player finally reaches GO.

Ending the Game[]

The game will end when all the players have reached the GO corner space.

  • However, let the last player do an action in their own turn. Once they have completed their own action, the game ends in that exact time.

Winning the Game[]

A player with the most Title Deeds (including timeshares) will win the game.

  • If there is a tie, a player who has the highest cumulative rent will win the tiebreaker and ultimately the game.
