Monopoly: Baltimore Edition is a boardgame edition that is about the largest and the most populous city in the eastern U.S. state of Maryland. It is the 30th-most populous U.S. city with a population of about 585,000 people at the 2020 census. Baltimore has its own "county", but it is not within the surrounding Baltimore County (which has a population of about 855,000, about 46% higher than the same-name city). It is the biggest city of its Baltimore metro area (with Annapolis, the capital of Maryland). It is also part of the Washington-Baltimore combined statistical area; this is the 3rd-most populous combined statistical area of the United States with over 10 million people as of 2023. In Baltimore itself, it has the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (the oldest railroad in the United States, and it is the 3rd Railroad in the game of Monopoly), Fells Point (waterfront neighborhood), Federal Hill (the nearer neighborhood south from downtown), Mount Vernon (another nearer neighborhood north from downtown), the Inner Harbor, Wiessner-American Brewery building, National Brewing Company, the Emerson Bromo-Seltzer Tower (clock tower), Baltimore Orioles and the Oriole Park at Camden Yards (MLB), and Baltimore Ravens and M&T Bank Stadium (NFL).
